One of the Best Ways to Manage Type 2 Diabetes
Do you have type 2 diabetes or have you been told that you are at risk of developing type II diabetes?
Are you looking to make lifestyle changes to help manage or prevent type 2 diabetes?
If your answer is “Yes”, one of the best things you can do is to speak with a Registered Dietitian.
A recent research study review has found that lifestyle interventions delivered by Dietitians are more effective than interventions delivered by non-Dietitians, for those with – or at risk of developing – type II diabetes.
After reviewing 69 studies, the researchers concluded that lifestyle interventions delivered by Dietitians had greater success in reducing body weight and managing blood sugar levels. They also found that there was no significant difference in the delivery method of the interventions – in person versus technology delivered.
Registered Dietitians are the most trusted source of nutrition information in Canada. They translate complex scientific evidence into practical solutions to make it easier for you to make healthy food choices and feel your best.
When you work with a Registered Dietitian, you will not just receive a diet plan or list of foods that you cannot eat. A Dietitian will provide information, advice, guidance and support that is tailored to you and your specific needs.
When you work with a Registered Dietitian, you will work together as a team to set practical and realistic goals so that you can successfully implement lifestyle changes that suit your needs and lifestyle.
If you’re looking to make lifestyle changes to help manage or prevent type II diabetes – or other chronic diseases such as high blood cholesterol, high blood pressure or obesity – be sure to contact a Registered Dietitian.
