Puzzle’s Bakery and Café

Puzzle’s Bakery and Café is committed to improving the livelihood of individuals, families and communities affected by autism spectrum disorders and individuals with developmental disabilities. These individuals have the right to work in integrated settings with non-disabled colleagues and to be afforded the same wages and contribute to society in a meaningful way.

Puzzle’s Bakery and Café will provide adults with disabilities opportunities for personal growth, as well as a source of income, social interaction, and a sense of purpose.

At Puzzle’s Bakery and Café, their approach is two-fold; they seek to welcome and include individuals and families affected by special needs into the community, and in turn, hope to nurture compassion and understanding by exposing the community to individuals with disabilities.

Puzzle’s Bakery and Café is a hybrid organization; a social enterprise. Unlike a non-profit organization, Puzzle’s is a sustainable business.

Puzzle’s operations do not rely solely on charitable donations, but rather generate revenue through the sale of delicious food and beverages.

Puzzle’s Bakery and Café is an equal opportunity employer.

Puzzle’s Bakery and Café offers a variety of freshly baked goods, artisan sandwiches, hearty soups, signature salads, and a beverage available for purchase for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Puzzle’s Bakery and Café has a strong brand identity, a fantastic menu, and a solid business plan.

In addition to bringing Puzzle’s to other communities throughout the United States, they wish to serve as a model for other for-profit businesses to employ individuals with special needs around the world.

Why Puzzle’s? Autism Awareness is often conveyed with brightly-colored puzzle pieces, as seen in the popular Autism Awareness Ribbon.

Considering the low employment rate for people with developmental disabilities and autism, creative employment solutions like Puzzle’s Bakery and Café are necessary to meet the needs of the aging autistic population.
